About

The Indonesian Beatboxing Community

The community used to be named The Jakarta Beatboxing Community, then in early 2008, changed its name to The Indonesian Beatboxing Community, to spread its wings wider across the country.

The Indonesian Beatboxing Community (IBC) was official in October 30th 2008, when the two times German beatboxing champion, Mando, was on tour in Indonesia to showcase “Love, Peace, and Beatbox,” a film about beatboxing in Germany, as part of the European Film Festival hosted by The Goethe Institute. On the same night IBC was announced official, the first ever beatbox battle in Indonesia was also held, with Mando and the audience acting as the judges. The event was a huge success.

Following the birth of the community, IBC did several performances and interviews on some of Jakarta’s hottest shows on television and on the radio, spreading the positive message of peace and love through beatboxing.

The Indonesian Beatboxing Community is open for anyone who is interested in the art of human beatboxing, beatboxers and fans of beatboxing. If you’re new to the community, please fill in the form sent by our administrator to receive updates on our community events.

Join our group, and let’s get to know each other, exchange ideas, jam together, and most of all, let’s spread the peace, love, and respect.

Our first gathering was held on the 7th of December 2008. Next gathering is being planned, stay tuned!
